Jacobs Receives Contract to Support Highway Design/Build Pilot Program in Poland

PASADENA, Calif., June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) in Poland to provide consultancy and consultant construction supervision services to support the widening of a 62-kilometer section of national road DK 8 in Central Poland.

Officials noted that the total value of the 6-year contract is 13.3 million Euros.

GDDKiA is the Polish government agency that implements public investments in the roads sector. The project is the third of a three-module program to verify the effectiveness of the Design/Build (D/B) system for executing road investments. Jacobs is one of three consultants selected to support the program.

Jacobs will prepare D/B tender documents; support the tendering process, perform investor's supervision according to Polish building law and FIDIC contract conditions; and analyze the effectiveness of D/B system implementation. The work, which will satisfy EU expressway standards, will be conducted from Jacobs' office in Warsaw.

Jacobs has provided design and supervision on separate motorways, expressways, and national road projects for GDDKiA for the last 15 years. Their office in Warsaw serves as an engineering consulting office for roadways, railways, and environmental consulting in Poland.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Michael Higgins stated, "We are excited to engage in this challenging project to support GDDKiA's investment goals and help to evaluate the effectiveness of the D/B development approach."

Jacobs, with over 55,000 employees and revenues exceeding $9.0 billion, provides technical, professional, and construction services globally.
