Jacobs Receives Contract From Shell for European Biofuels Program

PASADENA, Calif., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a 3-year contract from Shell Supply and Distribution to provide front-end design, engineering, procurement, and construction management services for Shell's European biofuels program. The objective of the program is to install bioethanol and biodiesel blending facilities in Shell depots throughout Europe.

Officials did not disclose the contract value.

Under the program, Jacobs will develop conceptual designs and basic engineering packages for various biofuel blending projects, progressing to full implementation and construction management for most of the projects. Jacobs will execute the work in its Ghent, Belgium, office.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Robert Matha said, "We are very enthusiastic to support Shell in implementing this biofuels program. It achieves Shell's objective to comply with European Union directives and satisfies customer demand for clean fuels products."
