PASADENA, Calif., April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from Masan Resources Corporation for a major mining and minerals project in Vietnam. Masan Resources Corporation is a subsidiary of Masan Group Corporation.
The contract value is estimated at USD21.8 million. Jacobs' offices in Brisbane, Australia are executing the project work with detailed engineering support from its Mumbai office.
The scope of services for the project includes engineering and procurement for a new minerals processing facility at a poly-metallic (tungsten, bismuth, fluorspar, copper and gold) deposit, which will be mined using conventional open-pit methods and equipment. The project is located approximately 50 miles northwest of Hanoi, in the Dai Tu District of Thai Nguyen Province of Northern Vietnam.
