Jacobs Receives Contract From LANXESS for Manufacturing Plant in Singapore

PASADENA, Calif., June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from LANXESS Inc. to provide Front End Loading services for a butyl rubber manufacturing plant project located on Jurong Island in Singapore.

Officials estimate the project's total installed cost at approximately $700 million. Construction is expected to start early next year and be completed by the end of 2010.

Butyl rubber is one of the four businesses in LANXESS' performance polymers segment and an important business unit. Once built, the 20,000-square-meter facility will produce 100,000 tons of butyl rubber annually to serve Asia's markets.

Jacobs will provide the services from its Singapore office.
