PASADENA, Calif., July 5, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it received a contract from the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA)to provide services under its Aggregate Contingent Estimation (ACE) program for combining event forecasts from multiple experts to improve forecast accuracy.
The contract has a potential value of approximately $11 million with a one-year base period of performance and three one-year award options. Its effective date is May 25, 2011.
The INterrelated FOrecasts Reflecting Models behind Experts' Decisions (INFORMED) system -, developed by Jacobs and its partners on the ACE contract: SRI and Digital Sandbox Inc, Mercyhurst College, ANSER Corporation, and Professor Scott Page -weighs individual forecasts, not just by superficial demographic information about the experts, but also by the underlying models that are used to derive estimates.
