Jacobs Receives Contract on Florida Department of Transportation US 19 Design-Build Project

PASADENA, Calif., April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that the Cone & Graham Inc. team, for which Jacobs is the design engineer, received a contract to provide design-build services on the Florida Department of Transportation, District Seven project to construct new twin bridges to carry US 19/US 98 (SR 55) over the Cross Florida Barge Canal and Greenways Trail in Citrus County, Fla.

Officials estimate the project value at $38 million, with construction scheduled for completion in Fall 2010.

Jacobs will provide highway and bridge design services for the project that includes new two-lane bridges, expanding the roadway approaches, demolishing the existing bridge, and resurfacing and adding lanes to US 19. Upon completion, the project will result in a safer four-lane divided highway.
