PASADENA, Calif., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from Cofathec Services (Cofathec), a Gaz de France subsidiary, to provide conceptual and detailed engineering studies for a 20 MW power station to supply the New Hospital Estaing (NHE), currently under construction at Clermont Ferrand in France.
Officials did not disclose the contract value.
Under the new contract, Jacobs will also provide engineering, procurement, and construction management services for a 2 x 4000 kVA standby electrical power station.
Cofathec specializes in maintenance and operation of power generation for major projects. The public/private partnership (PPP) framework for this investment at Clermont Ferrand has a 20-year operation period.
Jacobs is currently providing engineering, procurement, and construction management services for the NHE project, which is scheduled to be complete in late 2009. The new power station project will be designed and constructed within a 12-month schedule and will be commissioned by the end of this year.
