Jacobs Joint Venture Project Wins NDA Innovation Award

Highlighting Contributions to UK’s Nuclear Clean-Up Mission

PASADENA, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Feb. 5, 2013 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that its ACKtiv Nuclear Joint Venture (comprised of Jacobs, Carillion and Atkins) received the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s (NDA) Estate Supplier Award for “Best Example of Innovation by a Large Company,” for a project at Sellafield Limited in the United Kingdom.

The award recognizes the joint venture for its development of an innovative method for safe removal of protective cementitious grout work on the Isolations and Risk Reduction Project at the Sellafield site. The remotely operated solution enabled critical pipe isolation work to be conducted safely and effectively.

The annual Estate Supplier Award recognizes excellence in the NDA Estate Supply Chain through contributions to the UK’s nuclear decommissioning and clean-up mission.

The NDA is a non-departmental public body that owns 19 nuclear sites and the associated civil nuclear liabilities and assets of the public sector in the UK. The NDA is responsible for the decommissioning, clean-up and restoration of these civil nuclear facilities.
