PASADENA, Calif., June 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it has completed the purchase of a one-third share in AWE Management Limited (AWEML) from British Nuclear Fuels Limited (BNFL).
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
AWEML, a company founded in 2000, is a joint venture between Jacobs, Lockheed Martin and Serco to manage the Atomic Weapons Establishment on behalf of the U.K. Ministry of Defence.
In making the announcement, Jacobs President and CEO Craig Martin stated, "We have been serving as a strategic supplier to AWE for a number of years and are delighted to now have a key contributing role with our partners Lockheed Martin and Serco. Under the direction of the Ministry of Defence we look forward to supporting its mission."
Jacobs has more than 6500 employees located in the UK.
