Jacobs Awarded Gas Plant Infrastructure Project by Storengy UK Ltd.

Overall Project expected to Result in One of the Largest Natural Gas Storage Facilities in the United Kingdom

PASADENA, Calif., March 23, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from Storengy UK Ltd. to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the above-ground infrastructure associated with the new gas storage facility located in Stublach, in the North West England ceremonial county of Cheshire. Jacobs will design and install new gas compression, gas treatment facilities, a control system and utilities for the project. The work will be executed from Jacobs' office in Manchester.

The overall project at Storengy's Stublach site is expected to expand the natural gas storage capacity up to 400 million cubic meters, making the facility one of the largest in the United Kingdom. Operations at the new facility are scheduled to begin in 2013 with a total investment estimated at pounds Sterling 350 million GBP (approximately $500 million USD).

Storengy is the company of GDF SUEZ dedicated to the underground storage of natural gas. The company is building or operating all natural gas storage facilities in France (Storengy France), Great Britain (Storengy UK), and Germany (Storengy Deutschland). Storengy is the second-largest natural gas-storage operator in Europe, with working capacity of 11 billion cubic meters.
