PASADENA, Calif., June 10, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ), ENCORE II Information Technology Solutions contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). DISA is the combat support agency responsible for planning, engineering, acquiring, fielding, and supporting global net-centric solutions to serve the Department of Defense under all conditions of peace and war.
This contract has a five-year base period of performance with five additional one-year options. Jacobs was one of 14 large business companies selected to provide information technology professional services. The contracts have a combined ceiling limit of $12.225 billion.
Under the ENCORE II contract, Jacobs will provide net-centric solutions, including network engineering, analysis, and support for the acquisition, installation, fielding, training, operation, and life-cycle management of components and systems in the operational environments of Combatant Commands and their subordinate components, the military services, Defense agencies, Department of Defense, and other agencies of the Federal Government.
Areas to be supported by the contracts include Command and Control (C2), Intelligence and Mission Support Areas, and all elements of the Global Information Grid (GIG). Tasks performed under the ENCORE II contracts will include enterprise IT policy and planning, integrated solutions management, performance benchmarking, business process reengineering, requirement analysis, market research and prototyping, information and knowledge engineering, custom application development, product integration, test and evaluation, asset management, communications engineering, security engineering certification and accreditation, telecommunications support, computer-telephone integration, web services, hardware and equipment when such items are incidental to the overall IT solution, software applications and licenses, and managed services.
Jacobs will serve as the prime contractor for the effort and will draw on support from its small business team subcontractors and Historically Black Colleges/University partners. The period of performance begins on June 1, 2008.
