Jacobs Awarded Contract from Volpe Center to Support Federal Railroad Administration

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it was awarded a contract from the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) to provide monitoring and technical assistance for the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Grant and Loan Program.

The five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award task order contract has a maximum order limit of $70 million.

Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is working with the Volpe Center to provide support to FRA grantees and borrowers in a variety of areas that include monitoring, technical assistance, compliance, program management, deliverable review, and training.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Kevin McMahon stated, “We are delighted to assist the Volpe Center in overseeing the FRA’s nationwide Grant and Loan program. Passenger and freight rail systems are vital components of the U.S. infrastructure, and we are pleased to support rail transportation improvements through this important program."

The Volpe Center is a federal fee-for-service organization within the United States Department of Transportation’s Research and Innovative Technology Administration. The Center partners with public and private organizations to assess the needs of the transportation community, evaluate research and development endeavors, assist in the deployment of state-of-the-art transportation technologies, and inform decision- and policy-making through comprehensive analysis.
