Jacobs Awarded Contract with Horizon Nuclear Power

Supporting Major New Build Investment in the UK’s Energy Infrastructure

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it was awarded a framework management contract by Horizon Nuclear Power to provide engineering support and related services for two new nuclear power generation plants the company is developing at Wylfa on the Isle of Anglesey and Oldbury in South Gloucestershire, United Kingdom.

Officials did not disclose the contract value, but noted that the duration of the contract is three years, and the work is being executed from several Jacobs offices in the UK.

Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is working collaboratively with Horizon to provide development and planning, site investigation, engineering, environmental permitting and waste management, and project management support.

Working as a tier one service provider in close collaboration with three other Horizon strategic framework partners, Jacobs is supporting Horizon’s goal to prepare the lead Wylfa site (and thereafter, the Oldbury site) for construction of the new power station and associated developments.

Jacobs has more than fifty years of experience across the complete nuclear asset lifecycle, and already possesses extensive knowledge of Horizon sites, having supported the company since 2010.

Horizon Nuclear Power was formed in 2009 to develop new nuclear power stations in the UK. It was acquired by Hitachi Ltd of Japan in November 2012.
