PASADENA, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Jul. 9, 2013 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it was awarded a contract from Bayer CropScience Australia to perform early stage engineering for an expansion project at their formulation plant in Kwinana, Western Australia.
Officials did not disclose the contract value.
Jacobs is generating and updating as-built site documentation to develop a design and cost estimate for a new bulk unloading and mixing system. After early stage engineering, subject to required approvals, Bayer intends to proceed the project into engineering procurement and construction management phases.
The project is expected to significantly increase Bayer’s production capability at Kwinana and improve its ability to service the Western Australian agricultural sector.

The Kwinana operation is responsible for formulation and distribution of broadacre products for Western Australia, and supporting South Australia and Victoria.
