PASADENA, Calif., June 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) and its joint venture partner URS announced today that they negotiated a contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) - New Orleans Hurricane Protection Office to provide indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, general design support services, multidisciplinary services, and construction management services primarily within the limits of the New Orleans District, and may involve reconstruction of New Orleans resulting from Hurricane Katrina.
The joint venture contract has a base period not to exceed one year and four one-year option periods, for a total IDIQ value not to exceed $90 million. Jacobs is responsible for approximately 15 percent of the work as a minority joint venture partner. Task orders for the work may involve new or existing structures such as navigational locks, flood control structures, pumping stations, marine structures, roadways, bridges, and buildings.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Kevin McMahon stated, "We have been working under an IDIQ contract with the USACE - St. Louis District to provide post-Hurricane Katrina restoration work, and look forward to the opportunity to continue our efforts in assisting the USACE and New Orleans with rebuilding its city."
