DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) has been selected by Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise to provide design services to widen over nine miles of the Sawgrass Expressway in South Florida, from six to ten lanes, incorporating two express lanes in each direction of traffic. Jacobs will also design the reconstruction and rehabilitation of three interchanges, a project with an estimated construction value of $125 million, according to Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.
The project objectives are to add capacity, improve travel time reliability, enhance safety and provide long-term mobility options for commuters and visitors in South Florida. Operational, capacity and safety enhancements at the interchanges include designing diamond and diverging diamond interchanges (DDIs).
