Exciting news! Jacobs will be recognized as WTS International (WTS)’s The Employer of the Year in the San Diego and Washington, D.C. regions.
Since 1977, WTS, formerly called Women’s Transportation Seminar, has focused on promoting the advancement of women in the transportation industry.
Jacobs’ recognition as the Employer of the Year awardee honors our work in enhancing the transportation industry through a commitment to excellence and quality of product and service with a track record for recruiting, retaining and advancing women at all employment levels.
These awards build on our significant recent success in the regions, with major project wins in environmental, design, construction management and program management – with key transportation clients, including the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), the California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS), the Imperial County Transportation Commission (ICTC), the City of San Diego, and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (SDCRAA) in San Diego, and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT), and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) in the Washington, D.C. region.
“WTS is not only devoted to women’s professional development – they operate according to a vision for equity and access for women in transportation and are active in the diversity and inclusion space,” says Jacobs People & Places Solutions, California Transportation Market Leader Hany Haroun. “This award recognition shines a well-deserved spotlight on Jacobs as we continue our commitment to creating an environment where all employees can grow and thrive.”
“We strive at Jacobs to be the employer of choice and recognized globally for attracting diverse talent where inclusion is our differentiator in bringing innovative thought and solutions to our clients,” says Jacobs Solutions & Technology Director for the U.S. North Jennifer Duval. “Receiving this award from an organization whose mission is to attract, connect, sustain and advance women in transportation is such an incredible honor.”
As one of the largest professional associations, WTS is dedicated to shaping the future of transportation for the public good through the global advancement of women and ensuring a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workforce. Today, WTS is an essential partner with more than 40,000 transportation professionals: 8,500 members and 65 professional chapters.
