Jacobs won The Business Award 2017 from the city of The Hague on September 11, 2017 in the Netherlands.
The award was given to “the company that has generated the most economic impact, while also contributing to the next economy and helping solve global challenges,” as stated by the city's Deputy Mayor, Karsten Klein.
Winning this award is a boost for our colleagues in The Netherlands and a great honor for Jacobs globally. This award recognizes Jacobs' economic contribution and ambition for further development in The Hague.
Jacobs moved from Leiden to The Hague in January of this year, into the first refurbished property in the Netherlands to achieve LEED Platinum certification. The office is home to 1,000 employees in the Netherlands and serves as an international hub for Jacobs in Europe, and attracted more than 500 international visitors to the city in the first six months of being open.
“We are very proud to have received this prestigious award. We thank the city, the jury and everyone who voted for us online for their confidence in our company,” said Jelle Nederstigt, Jacobs VP Operations for The Netherlands. “It is a pleasure to work in the city and we look forward to a bright future.”
