Jacobs Launches New Innovate Reconciliation Action Plans in Australia

New Innovate Reconciliation Action Plans reinforce commitment to supporting First Nations engagement and reconciliation in the region.

Our new Innovate Reconciliation Action Plans

Jacobs has launched its Innovate Reconciliation Action Plans (RAP) for its People & Places Solutions (P&PS) and Critical Missions Solutions (CMS) businesses in Australia.

The decision to develop two Innovate RAPs recognizes the two business lines, which serve different market segments, are at different stages of their reconciliation journeys and ensures both implement actions and deliverables to create a meaningful impact in their respective businesses and markets.

“Our 2024-2026 Innovate RAP, the third RAP for our P&PS business, builds on our long history, progress and commitment to reconciliation and engagement with First Nations communities,” says Jacobs Vice President & General Manager Eva Wood. “Our new RAP sets out actions to continue to make a tangible difference to advance reconciliation and is focused around building meaningful relationships, building respect and creating opportunities for First Nations employment and business.”

“Our first CMS RAP is an Innovate RAP with a similar focus to the P&PS RAP,” says Jacobs Vice President & General Manager Mike Walkington. “We are proud of the USD $53.8 million (AU $83 million) towards economic and social value we have provided to First Nations communities over the past five years through our supply chain partnership with the Indigenous Defence and Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC).”

Developed collaboratively with Reconciliation Australia, a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) enables organizations to sustainably and strategically take meaningful action to advance reconciliation in Australia. Innovate RAPs are implemented over a two-year period and aim to empower and strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by implementing actions focused on driving organizational change.

“Reconciliation Australia commends Jacobs on the formal endorsement of their Innovate Reconciliation Action Plans,” says Reconciliation Australia Chief Executive Officer Karen Mundine. “Jacobs continues to be part of a strong network of more than 2,500 corporate, government and not-for-profit organizations that have taken goodwill and transformed it into action.”

Jacobs P&PS in Australia’s Innovate RAP covers the period February 2024-2026 and Jacobs CMS in Australia’s RAP covers the period October 2023-2025.
