Jacobs' Terry Hagen Receives United States Patriotic Employer Award

Jacobs’ Chief Operating Officer Terry Hagen has been awarded the Patriotic Employer Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) organization. A former member of the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard, Terry served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. military for 11 years as a civil engineering staff officer. In April 2018, he received the Wash 100 Award which recognizes the most influential and impactful executives in the U.S. defense sector. Terry joined Jacobs in 1987.

The Patriot Award is given to an individual supervisor who has demonstrated exemplary support to a citizen warrior across a wide range of measures. Major Ben Roberts, an Army Reservist and Cultural Resources planner in the Gainesville, Florida office, nominated Terry for his executive sponsorship of VetNet, Jacobs’ veterans network group, and for his steadfast commitment to advocating for employees who are currently members of the reserve component of their nation’s military and transitioning veterans through mentoring, recruitment, membership, communications and program committee efforts. The award citation notes Terry’s leadership, experience and support of reserve component soldiers that keep Jacobs an employer of choice for reservists, guardsmen and guardswomen alike.

In receiving the Patriotic Employer Award, Terry commented, “I am honored to accept this award on behalf of Jacobs, and especially on behalf of our veterans, guard members and military reservists around the globe. I’m especially mindful of the sacrifice that guard members, reservists and their families make in serving their country while maintaining a career. Our VetNet employee network group is just one initiative designed to support our heroes.”

VetNet is the Jacobs Employee Network committed to advocating for veterans and military reserve members of government military organizations and related groups from around the world. They connect employees with organizations that assist veterans and reservists and their families. VetNet supports more than 2,000 Jacobs veteran employees, their families and other veteran supporters from the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia, India and others, and welcomes all employees (veterans and non-veterans) to become members.

Jacobs delivers technologically advanced, highly-tailored, and mission-critical solutions supporting national government, military and defense clients with some of the most complex and high consequence challenges facing the world today – with a concern about tomorrow.
