Chris Thomson
With 30 years of environmental consulting experience across Australia and the Pacific, Chris specializes in integrating ecological considerations into infrastructure and natural resource planning. He supports project teams to understand biodiversity impacts and develop practical approaches to mitigation, management and monitoring.
His experience spans ecological surveys and assessments for major road, rail, water and power projects, as well as ecological impact assessment, peer review, species monitoring, adaptive management and biodiversity offsets. Chris has also developed threatened species management and connectivity plans, working with multiple stakeholders to address complex ecological challenges.
A particular focus of Chris’s work is understanding how infrastructure affects wildlife movement. Through monitoring wildlife interactions with transport barriers and connectivity measures, he’s able to inform approaches that support both infrastructure needs and ecological connectivity.
