Industry leaders share expertise on decommissioning and radioactive waste management at the Waste Management Symposia

Leading companies from around the industry, including Jacobs (CH2M is now Jacobs), gather at the world's largest and most prestigious radioactive waste management conference to share their insight, experience and best practices.

Industrial nuclear leaders from Jacobs (CH2M is now Jacobs) will share their expertise in decommissioning and radioactive waste management at the 2018 Waste Management Symposia on March 18-22, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona. This year's theme is Nuclear and Industrial Robotics, Remote Systems and Other Emerging Technologies. Featured sites throughout the week include the Los Alamos National Lab and the Portsmouth & Paducah Project Office.

Our waste management work

We decommission and demolish reactor complexes, highly-radioactive nuclear facilities and highly radioactive hot cells around the world. Our expertise includes material handling and processing operations, spent fuel operations, facility operations and environmental cleanup and decommissioning for contaminated sites in the United States Department of Energy nuclear weapons complex and the Atomic Energy of Canada Limited.

Kurt Kehler, Dan Coyne and Mark Lesinski (President and CEO of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories) will be speaking on Transition to Government Owned-Contractor Operated Site at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Tuesday, March 20th at 10:15 a.m. -12:00 p.m. MST.

Bill Kirby, Program Manager of Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership, LLC. at Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant will speak alongside Mark Lesinski on Aligning Decision-Making to Deliver Timely Results in Large Clean-Up Programs, Tuesday, March 20th at 8:25 a.m. Kirby’s experience includes leading a team of 1,600 in delivery on the $7 billion Hanford PRC.

On Wednesday, March 21st we have five CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Company employees speaking on a variety of topics throughout the day. These experts will cover topics from Proposals for Dealing with Problematic Waste Streams and Policy Changes to the WESF Stabilization and Ventilation Project and a lot in between.
