The National Skills Academy Nuclear (NSAN) has recognized Jacobs’ contribution to developing skills in the nuclear industry as part of NSAN’s 10th Anniversary celebrations at a ceremony hosted by the Chairman of the Nuclear Industries Association Lord Hutton of Furness.

Commenting on the award, Jacobs Aerospace, Technology, Environmental and Nuclear International Senior Vice President Pete Lutwyche said: “We are delighted to have been an active member of this academy from the outset and with how NSAN has developed over the last ten years. We remain committed to supporting the academy’s great work as the need for key nuclear-related skills continues to be in significant demand in the U.K.”

As a member of NSAN over the last ten years, Jacobs is currently on the NSAN Employers’ Advisory Board, as well as working on a number of initiatives with the Nuclear Standards Advisory Group, looking at higher level skills requirements with the Nuclear Skills Strategy Group, and helping to develop new nuclear national level qualifications and training courses, including the Trailblazer Nuclear Degree Apprentice Standards.

Established in 2007 by employers and the U.K. Government, NSAN has spent the past decade working with employers, training providers and other strategic stakeholders to provide solutions to skills needs in the nuclear industry, including the widely adopted Triple Bar qualifications for working on nuclear licensed sites, the nuclear training network and the NS4P (the Nuclear Skills passport) to support the nuclear industry and its supply chain develop and demonstrate the skills and capability required to deliver the nuclear program.
