Jacobs Receives Contract from NASA for Support at Michoud Assembly Facility

PASADENA, Calif., May 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from NASA to provide manufacturing support and facilities operations management services for the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center's Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, LA.

The award is a cost plus award fee, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract that includes a three year base period with two one year options and represents a potential maximum value of $696M if all options are exercised and all IDIQ annual maximum values are realized.

MAF is managed by the Marshall Space Flight Center and provides a unique capability for manufacturing large aerospace structures at a single location. It has played a key role in space shuttle propulsion through the design, assembly, and manufacturing of the external tank. While continuing to support the Space Shuttle Program, MAF has also been selected as the site to manufacture several major components for the Constellation Program that will return humans to the moon and send crewed expeditions to Mars and destinations beyond. MAF is one of the largest employers in Louisiana.

Jacobs will serve as the prime contractor, drawing support from four subcontractors: Qualis Corporation; Sierra Lobo, Inc.; Manufacturing Technical Solutions (MTS), Inc.; and JIT Services. Jacobs will provide program management; safety, health and emergency management; integrated manufacturing support; maintenance; site services; site operations; logistics operations services; sustaining engineering; environmental services; and construction and IDIQ services to NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility.
