Jacobs Receives Contract Ceiling Increase From U.S. Special Operations Command

PASADENA, Calif., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a $60 million ceiling increase to its Acquisition, Logistics, Management, and Business Operations Support (ALMBOS) contract with the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

This increase makes the contract worth up to $460 million with an additional extension option available, which can raise the ceiling to $505 million if exercised. The contract ceiling increase also allows for the continued support to USSOCOM in the final option year of the contract, bringing the contract support to eight years.

Under the ALMBOS contract, which went into effect May 1, 2002, Jacobs provides a wide range of acquisition, business, and technical services to USSOCOM headquarters staff, its service components, and the Theater Special Operations Commands. Jacobs serves as the prime contractor and draws support from both large and small business subcontractors.

In making the announcement, Jacobs President and CEO Craig Martin stated, "We are pleased with the U.S. Special Operations Command's confidence in Jacobs and our team by expanding our support services and allowing us to continue the longstanding relationship we've had within the headquarters and with its component commands. Our support of their critical and unique responsibilities for organizing, training, equipping, and leading special operations forces for their worldwide missions in times of peace and war is rewarding."

More than 335 Jacobs employees support USSOCOM worldwide. ALMBOS is the follow-on contract to the System Engineering and Technical Assistance II contract, which USSOCOM awarded to Jacobs in 1997.

Jacobs, with annual revenues exceeding $12 billion, is one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional, and construction services.
