Jacobs Awarded Contract with Tronox in Australia

Leveraging strong global experience and local capability to support client objectives

PASADENA, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Jul. 16, 2013 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today it was awarded a contract from Tronox Limited (NYSE: TROX) to perform early stage engineering for an aluminum chloride generator at its pigment plant in Kwinana, Western Australia.

Officials did not disclose the contract value.

Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is performing a high level selection study of various generator technologies being evaluated for the facility. Integration of the selected technology is planned across the three Tronox pigment sites including Kwinana; Hamilton, Mississippi US; and Botlek, Netherlands.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Tom Quinn stated, “We are delighted to support Tronox’s project objectives through this study. We look forward to integrating our strong local capabilities in the region with our global experience and the work we have previously done with Tronox at their Hamilton, Mississippi facility.”
