Jacobs Offices Win WTS Employer of the Year Chapter Awards
Congratulations to Jacobs’ operations in Houston, Phoenix and Atlanta, which have received 2017 Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Employer of the Year Chapter Awards. As a result, Jacobs is now in the running for the national award, to be presented in May.
WTS is an international organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. Its annual awards recognize companies for excellence in transportation service delivery, support ongoing development of its female employees, and encourage female students to enter the transportation field by providing internship opportunities.
The accomplishments of these three Jacobs office are many, but one example that helped the Jacobs Atlanta office win recognition is related to its summer intern program. The Atlanta office has a robust intern program and hired 15 interns last summer, of which 60 percent were women.
WTS plays an important role in Jacobs’ promotion of inclusion and diversity both internally and externally. Jacobs is a WTS International Guardian sponsor and also provides local sponsorship support for various WTS chapters. Many Jacobs leaders hold roles within WTS.
Voting for the national award, which is open to WTS chapter presidents, advisory board members, region council members and WTS International and Foundation board members, closes on March 22 at 11.59 pm Eastern Time. For more information contact WTS here: https://www.wtsinternational.org/contact/
