Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council
Jacobs is an active member in the PFAS Team for the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC), a state-led coalition, with public and private sector members from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, working to reduce barriers to the use of innovative air, water, waste, and remediation environmental technologies and processes. ITRC produces documents and training that broaden and deepen technical knowledge and expedite quality regulatory decision making while protecting human health and the environment.
ITRC honored our Global Emerging Contaminants Practice Leader Bill DiGuiseppi with the Industry Affiliates Program (IAP) 2018 Member of the Year Award. Bill was nominated by the leaders of the Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Team, which includes more than 400 industry professionals, facility owners, regulators and government representatives from the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Energy, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as leading academic researchers. He has been involved with the team since its inception in 2017 and has filled several roles including co-lead for the PFAS Remediation Subgroup, instructor for regulatory community training courses and a technical reviewer and spokesperson on behalf of ITRC at major conferences.
In addition to the PFAS Workgroup, Jacobs is active in the 1,4-Dioxane Workgroup; Vapor Intrusion Workgroup; Sampling, Characterization, and Monitoring Workgroup; Optimizing In Situ Remediation Performance & Injection Strategies Workgroup; and the Green and Sustainable Remediation Workgroup.
