ENYGF 2017 Shares Innovation in Nuclear

The European Nuclear Young Generation Forum (ENYGF) held in Manchester, U.K., last month, brought together students and young professionals from across the European nuclear energy generation industry. Providing an international platform for sharing experiential knowledge and best practices, the biennial event united more than 400 delegates from 27 countries. The week-long program included expert speakers, interactive workshops, poster presentations and varied technical tours to sites around the U.K.

Jacobs was proud to support 11 Jacobs Futures at the event, providing a great opportunity for professional and personal development. The team delivered five technical presentations and four poster presentation sessions, across a range of topics including lean construction process in nuclear new build; sustainable nuclear communities; and changing behaviours in safety through lessons learned. Jacobs’ Professor Paul Gilchrist delivered a technical workshop on the nuclear fuel cycle and how big decisions are made at a national level.

“The conference was a great opportunity to network with professionals from across the industry. Everyone in attendance had different experience and a diverse perspective," said Ellen Wildig, Graduate Geographic Information Systems Analyst. "I thoroughly enjoyed the week, it was huge opportunity for personal development.”
