Jacobs’ experience includes a wide range of plant capacities and metal production rates for precious metals facilities including gold, silver and platinum. Jacobs provides solutions for the mineral processing, hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical treatment of simple and complex ore bodies.
As an established service provider in the development of gold ore processing facilities, our project teams have delivered more than 50 projects in the past decade. These projects include concentrators with capacities in the range of 300 to 15,000 tonnes per day. Ores treated include both free milling and refractory. For the latter, processes evaluated have included roasting, pressure oxidation and bioxidation. Most of the recent gold projects have involved primary crushing followed by semi-autogenous grinding and ball milling.
Recent project experience includes the completion of the detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) for the Boddington gold mine project in Western Australia, one of the largest gold processing facilities in the world.
Jacobs addresses customers' requirements to reduce plant area by utilising large capacity equipment; optimising process routes; and continuously searching for cost-effective construction materials and techniques.
