Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
"Our company culture can be summarized in the word integrity, and you can't run an unsafe company and claim you have integrity."
Dr. Joseph J. Jacobs, Oct. 2002

We believe that accidents/incidents are preventable and continuously strive towards a "Zero Incident" culture. People are our greatest asset and, therefore, giving them a safe and healthy workplace is essential. Our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) process ensures that employees at all levels are involved in daily safety decisions, and incorporate proactive methods of loss prevention.

Built on a foundation of management commitment and leadership, HSE responsibility is a line management function throughout our organization. HSE excellence is a condition of employment at Jacobs and a cornerstone of our relationship with our clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

We deploy significant HSE professional resources worldwide to actively share best practices among all operations and immediately mitigate any potential hazards. Through our unique cycle of assessing, planning, training, monitoring, and adjusting, we continuously improve our HSE management.

We integrate health, safety, and protection of the environment into everything we do. From activities of potential high risk, such as heavy lifts on construction projects, to routine activities in engineering and design offices, our employees perform their work following specified safe work practices.

Our goals are to:
  • Do no harm to people or property,
  • Do no damage to the environment, and
  • Add value to all projects and services.
